Licht geschrokken dook ik achter een pilaar. Had ik nou zojuist voluit 'Bril-jant!' gegalmd in deze zaal*? Ik herstelde me vlot en schoof zo onopvallend mogelijk weer richting de Juwelen van Mianne de Vries. Ook na nadere inspectie van haar 'The Jewelry Of The Day' blijf ik erbij: Briljant.

Ich war ein Berliner

 

Back again from Berlin. Spent four Sunny but very cold days in the Snug companionship of four Friends. I must say the city overwelmed me in all it's contrasts. That calls for a swift return, don't you think?

We groeiden op in de Wetenschap dat we er Ooit met hem heen mochten. 1993 werd mijn jaar. De Matthaus Passion. Hij geniet er bijna elk jaar van, steeds op een andere plek. Uit waardering voor zijn muzikale opvoeding en vaderschap nam ik hem een jaar later mee naar de Carmina Burana. Nog steeds mijn favoriete compositie.

Vorig jaar genoot mijn Oudste met Opa alvast van de Johannes. Het voorproefje op een zit van tweeënhalf uur. Tijd voor de volgende generatie.

Heb jij een favoriet op het gebied van Klassiek?

We grew up in the knowledge that Once we would go there with him. 1993 became my year. The St. Matthew Passion. He still enjoys it almost every year, always in a different place. Expressing my appreciation for his musical nurture and fatherhood, a year later I took him to see the Carmina Burana. Still my favorite composition.

Last year he took my Eldest to the St. John. A preparation for the two and a half hour sit. It's Time for the next generation.

Tijd om terug te schakelen. Als Cleopatra laat ik me voeren met de Beste Liedjes van 2012. De Jaarlijstjes van anderen (je zult er maar Tijd voor hebben, zeg). Op de valreep van het jaar ontdek ik de prachtigste Albums. Kan er zo een jaar op teren.

Time to shift down. As if I was Cleopatra, I let myself being fed with the Best Songs of 2012. The Yearlists of others (oh my, if I only had the Time). At the very end of this year I discover the most beautiful Albums. Enough for a whole new year.

Dance

Speaking of Stop Motion Video. Jullien Vallee makes them. And some nice ones, that is. And he makes Lots more: paper sculptures, installations, graphics. Gestalten made a Book about his work and it's for sale here (and it's a real Bargain!) (and of course I don't want to interfere, but it's also very suitable for your Guy. 'cause Jullien is really cool. And he's Canadian, you know.)

The Plastics Revolution maakte van 1905 foto's deze prachtige video, geheel via Instagram. En zo zitten we op een rustige Zondag ineens middenin de Actualiteit. Zou toch verhipte jammer zijn als zoiets Moois aan De Commercie ten onder zou gaan.
